According to NPR, fact-checkers have been having a field day with Democratic claims that the Republicans are continuing their War on Women by proposing to pay for keeping student loan interests rates low by cutting funding for preventive health care services. It turns out, say the fact checkers, that cutting funding for preventive health care doesn't just impact women'it also impacts men and children, because they too receive preventive health care treatment.
So when Republicans say it's unfair to accuse them of exclusively trying to screw over women with their proposal for how to pay for keeping student loan rates low, they are right. It is unfair. Yes, they are trying to screw women. But they're also trying to screw men and children.
