Pope gives special holiday hate speech against gays because it's Christmas

Jesus H. Christ:
Pope Benedict used his annual Christmas message to denounce gay marriage, saying that it destroyed the 'essence of the human creature.'

In one of his most important speeches of the year, the Pope stressed that a person's gender identity is God-given and unchangeable. As a result, he sees gay marriage as a 'manipulation of nature.' [...]

The Pope has said that gay marriage, like abortion and euthanasia, is a threat to world peace.

He couldn't just say something nice about world peace? Or sing his favorite Christmas carol? He had to take this moment to go out of his way explaining why the Catholic Church still hates gay people and you should too. So much for the holiday spirit and goodwill toward men, yadda yadda.

Too bad for the pope, no one'not even Catholics'care what he has to say about, well, anything:

However, 59% of Catholics in America favor allowing gay and lesbian couples to marry, according to a poll released this year by the Public Religion Research Institute.

That's exactly what is worrying the Pope. He fears the opinions people form in their own consciences will lead them away from the doctrines set forth by the church.

Oh no! The pope is afraid that people will form their own opinions? Oh god, we can't have that! Think of the children! Think of Christmas! Think of how increasingly irrelevant the obsolete edicts from an old man in Rome are and how no one cares what hateful nonsense he spews in the name of the lord because, sinners all, even Catholics are capable of realizing that two consenting adults loving each other is not the end of the world.

Merry Christmas.
