Terence Flynn, the Republican member of the National Labor Relations Board accused of leaking information, has resigned. The inspector general of the NLRB found that Flynn passed confidential information to two former Republican members of the board, including one of Mitt Romney's labor advisers.
According to a statement from the NLRB, Flynn's resignation is effective July 24, but he is recusing himself from agency business until then. Since Flynn is currently a member under a recess appointment, he is also withdrawing his nomination. Sunday:
Chairman Pearce informed NLRB employees of the resignation and, on behalf of the entire Board, thanked them for their "hard work and commitment to excellence through even the most difficult circumstances." He intends to issue a statement after communicating with the staff on Tuesday.Flynn has denied any wrongdoing. Investigations into his actions continue.
