New battalion shows up to fight back in the War on Women: Dudes

Republicans continue to insist their party is not waging a War on Women, and that the pervasive gender gap isn't showing up in just about every poll across the country, up and down the ticket'like senatorial candidate Todd Akin's little "optics" problem with the ladies in Missouri. But voters aren't buying it, which is why we're seeing more and more ads emphasizing just how extreme the Republicans' war is. And the ads are working.

This new ad from the DCCC, hitting Republican Rep. Frank Guinta (NH-01) for his horrible record on women's rights, is no exception:

MAN #1: I've got a problem with Frank Guinta.

MAN #2: Frank Guinta wants to put the government in charge of women's medical decisions.

MAN #3: Frank Guinta would let the government decide, not women and their doctors.

MAN #4: Not women and their doctors.

MAN #5: Frank Guinta would even limit access to birth control.

MAN #6: Even limit access to birth control.

MAN #5: Yes, I'm a man.

MAN #2: I'm a man.

MAN #1: I'm a man.

MAN #3: But I have a problem with Frank Guinta.

MAN #2: Because it doesn't matter why Frank Guinta wants to put the government in charge.

MAN #5: It's not okay in New Hampshire.

Guinta's a real piece of work. As Laura Clawson wrote:

Rep. Frank Guinta stands out among Republicans mostly as a corrupt weasel. He's a Republican who votes with his party, which means we could pick out dozens of terrible votes he's taken'he voted to pass the Ryan budget out of committee, for instance, and for the horrendous Republican version of the Violence Against Women Act. He's also engaged in your typical Republican hypocrisy, showing up to cut the ribbon on projects he voted against funding, ranking as one of the most extravagant users of his congressional franking privilege after having campaigned against Shea-Porter in 2010 for supposedly abusing franking.

Guinta has also, of course, voted with his fellow Republicans to try to defund Planned Parenthood and other women's health care providers, restrict access to abortion, repeal Obamacare, and he supports crisis pregnancy centers that scare and intimidate pregnant women with false information about the so-called (but non-existent) risks of abortion and don't actually provide any health care.

That's why it's important to get Guinta out of Congress and to support his fantastic Democratic opponent, Carol Shea-Porter. And that's why it's also nice to see men coming forward to help fight back against the War on Women. Because you don't have to be a woman to be offended and disgusted by this Republican war.
