Hey, ladies. You know how we get, like, totally hysterical every time yet another Republican mansplains to us how sometimes rape isn't really that bad because it's not "legitimate" or "forcible" or because some girls "rape easy" or how, even if it's bad, we should turn our frowns upside down and make the best of it because it's a gift from God?
Well, thrice-married serial adulterer Newt Gingrich says we need to stop that:
Every candidate I know, every decent American I know, condemns rape. Okay? So, why can't people like Stephanie Cutter get over it?
Yeah! Why can't people like Stephanie Cutter'you know, chicks'get over it already? After all, everyone Newt knows thinks rape is bad. (Apparently, Newt is unfamiliar with the entire Republican Party, which has tried to redefine rape and includes, in its official platform, the standard Republican position that you'll have that rape baby and you'll like it because God!)
Sure, Republicans can't stop talking about rape, but that's no reason "people" need to respond. Like, when Indiana Republican and Senate candidate Richard Mourdock said a week ago that "life is that gift from God and I think even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape that it is something God intended to happen," well, we could have just let that go. We could have just kept our ladyholes shut and made dinner or gone shoe shopping or something. But oh no, we just had to respond because we broads just don't know when to stop, do we? Thankfully, we've got Newt around to let us know when it's time to "get over it."
If you're not ready to "get over it," please give $3 to each of our Daily Kos-endorsed women candidates for the House and Senate, so we can send more, better women to Congress to fight back against the Republicans' War on Women.
