Daily Kos Radio is on the air! And now, on Stitcher!

Can't believe the Republican convention didn't stand it's ground! Woooooo! It's Monday! Tell the boss to shove it! Wooooo! It's the wacky morning show guy, telling you to tune in to Daily Kos Radio... Hmm. We need a new opening.

Well, today was supposed to be the opening round of the Tampa TwaddleFest, but apparently Hurricane (maybe) Yitzhak has ruined it. We'll talk about it anyway, of course, and maybe in some detail if we can hack the tech end of it a little bit. Tune in to find out what that cryptic bit might mean.

Plus, more details about my triumphant return, along with Armando, to Sirius/XM for "Daily Kos Radio LIVE," which is what we'll be calling our three-day special series of broadcasts from the Democratic National Convention on the brand new Sirius/XM Convention Radio channel, provided Fox News doesn't reverse the call and send the hurricane to Charlotte at the last minute.

Today's big Daily Kos Radio news is that the "Kagro in the Morning" show is now available via Stitcher.com, meaning you can download their free app on your desktop or on your mobile device, and listen to our podcasts on demand. Which I will now demand that you do. Check it out: "I demand that you download this app." See? I told you I was going to demand that. And I did, too. Don't test me.

In fact, I've included this here graphic element to demonstrate my seriousness. Take that!

Anyway, you should download it, and then search for the show (you can search "Kagro in the Morning," or just "Kagro," or even "Daily Kos") and "favorite" it. That will make us look very hip and cool, and push us up in the ratings. And since Stitcher is including us in their Election Center category, every "favorite" we get makes it more likely that non-DKos community folks will stumble across our brainwashing content, and pretty soon we'll rule the world. All you have to do is click on the thing. Even if you never listen. Though you should.

To get you started, here's a link to the latest "Kagro in the Morning" episode on Stitcher. At the moment, of course, it's also the only one. But that'll change later today. There'll be two! (And eventually, we'll port all of our "back catalog" over there, too.)

Also new on the tech side is our change in podcasting platforms, which brings with it an easy-to-use RSS feed, which enables you to download podcasts automatically, directly to iTunes. Or something like that. That's what I hear, anyway. I haven't done it myself. But that's because I already heard the show the first time. When I said the things that were on it.

Oh, while I have you, you should also give us The Like on The Facebook, or whatever it is the kids say these days. And on The Twitter as well, where we're @DailyKosRadio. Though I'm still not entirely sure how we're going to use these things. But it'll probably be something awesome and stuff.

Daily Kos Radio is on the air, Monday through Friday, now from 9 a.m. to noon, ET. We start with two hours of the Kagro in the Morning show from 9-11, and then it's The Ministry of Truth, with Armando Llorens, starring Jesse LaGreca from 11-12.

I've got the phone lines (mostly) up and running these days, too. Want to join in the fun? Give us a call at (617) 500-7147, extension 14.

How to Listen

Your options to listen LIVE:

  • Click on the embedded Flash player below
  • Go to netrootsradio.com and click on the embedded player or direct link there
  • Click on this direct link if you need a non-Flash player, say, for iPad or iPhone
  • iPad and iPhone users can download the SHOUTCast Radio app for your mobile device & search for "Blue Skies Radio." That's the Netroots Radio home base, and it's where you'll find our Daily Kos Radio programming. You might also try "Netroots Radio," since it appears we're transitioning to try and make things less confusing
  • For Android: try either the "StreamFurious"  or "TuneIn" apps
  • BlackBerry users, see this guide by idbecrazyif

And here's a new tip: If the player hiccups in between shows, or drops the audio between the shows, just go ahead and stop and restart it, and things should go smoothly after that.

And if you miss the show, or just can't listen live, you'll find podcasts on the Daily Kos Radio group page. Plus, they're downloadable via RSS, or find them on demand at Stitcher.com.
