Republicans: No exceptions doesn't mean no exceptions, take two

Road sign: You can't fix it'but apparently
you can sell it to Republican voters. Once is a mistake. Twice is a strategy. And obviously, Republicans think this is a great strategy:
James Bopp says that the Republican platform does not endorse an abortion ban without any exceptions,  as many media outlets (including this one) have reported. And Bopp should know ' he drafted it. [...]

'We don't set out exceptions because we don't want to get into a debate over which version is appropriate,' said Bopp, co-chairman of the Republican party platform Subcommittee on Restoring Constitutional Government. 'The issue is restoring legal protection for the unborn. We're in favor of that concept, but not a particular amendment to do so.'

That's the second time in two days that the Republican Party has insisted that a total ban on abortion, with no exceptions, is not necessarily a total ban with no exceptions, even though their party platform calls for a total ban with no exceptions.

Yesterday, RNC Communications Director Sean Spicer explained:

Our platform is just a simple set of principles which say that the problem with the ad that you played is the Democrats are trying to take a simple set of principles, which is the Republican Party's pro-life. There is no additional language, so to talk about exceptions or whatever is not found in the platform.
Yeah, guys, we get it. The platform does not include exceptions. Which to any semi-literate person would mean there are no exceptions. But somehow we're supposed to believe that maybe there could be exceptions even though there aren't. So stop it already with the "obsession" with the party's platform on abortion.

Just one question to Republican voters: Exactly how stupid do they think you are? Oh, wait, you did vote for Mitt Romney. Never mind.
