Mitt Romney claims the Ryan plan actually expands Medicare

Only Mitt Romney could say that a proposal to end Medicare as we know it is actually a plan to expand Medicare:

My plan, like his, really expands Medicare Advantage. It says let's give people more opportunity to take advantage of not just the standard Medicare, but also also the policies that are available in the market place.
Hmm. Let's see. Under the Ryan plan, Medicare Advantage is eliminated for everyone under 55. For everyone over 55, the Ryan plan cuts hundreds of billions of dollars of wasteful Medicare Advantage spending.

But other than the part about eliminating Medicare Advantage and cutting hundreds of billions in Medicare Advantage spending, Romney is totally right.

And we haven't even touched on the fact that Ryan's plan also ends traditional Medicare.

That's one heck of an "expansion" you got going on there, governor.
