No apology from Bill O'Reilly to Caroline Fredrickson yet. No admission of being an idiot either

In a sane and truly fair-and-balanced, no-spin world, apologies combined with admissions of idiocy by Bill O'Reilly would be a nickel a dozen. But, media-wise, we've got what we've got. A world in which Fox greeted the news of the Supreme Court's decision on health insurance reform with a lickspittle interview featuring owner Rupert Murdoch. As regards O'Reilly's March 26 vow to Caroline Fredrickson of the American Constitution Society, it's no surprise that what we've heard is: Crickets. Asked if she'd gotten her "sorry" from Bill-O, Fredrickson said: 'Nooo, not yet. I'm still waiting. I'm eager to hear from him.'

Us too.

As Erik Wemple noted and you can see in the video, Bill-O was up to his usual know-it-all dismissiveness that day in March during a discussion with Fredrickson about how the Supreme Court would rule on health insurance reform. He said the law will punish people who don't buy health insurance by using the police power and that that would be the reason the Supreme Court would overturn it in a 5-4 ruling. Fredrickson said the law will use the tax power and that the Court would uphold the legislation. Snarled Bill-O:

And if I'm wrong I will come on, and I will play'I will play your clip. And I will apologize for being an idiot. But I think you're desperately wrong.
We know now who was what.

Bill-O's on vacation. But as Wemple says, he had plenty of time to call in Thursday to offer his expert six-minute "analysis" of the decision but apparently not enough time to offer even a one-sentence apology to Fredrickson.

She said her whole experience with O'Reilly had been hostile. Which is one of a boatload of reasons we here at Daily Kos urge people not to go on his or any Fox News program. She's sent an email to the show's producer but is still waiting for a reply.

And will be, most likely, until Lucifer rents ice skates.
