Scott Brown ducks RNC, Romney

Republicans are crowing about this:

Republicans: McCaskill can run from convention, but can't hide from Obama http://t.co/...

Wonder if they'll have anything to say about this?

Scott Brown won't guarantee RNC attendance http://t.co/...

So it's not just debates that Brown wants to duck. He won't even commit to attending the nominating convention for Mitt Romney, the guy running for president from his home state, and party. So by Republican standards, he's hiding from Romney. Except of course in the Republican world, he'll be showing his independence, or something.

What does Brown have to say for himself?

"I am trying to go for a certain period of time, but just don't know yet because of scheduling," he said. "It's really a scheduling thing more than anything else."
He could be having to meet with some kings and queens and prime ministers, so, you know, he's got to keep his schedule open for them.
