A year after Obama's birth certificate was released, birtherism still with us

Facts are stupid things. That seems to be the takeaway message of poll numbers suggesting birtherism is back:

YouGov internet poll: whether Americans believe 'Barack Obama was born in the United States' These polls demonstrate that the public is back where it was before Obama released his long form birth certificate. In April 2011 55% of the public believed that Obama was born in the United States. Today 55% of the public believes that he was born in the United States.
YouGov is an internet poll, so the numbers should be taken with that grain of salt. Still, the trend seems to indicate that releasing actual factual information about something only changes public knowledge about that thing for a short period of time, then folks go back to believing whatever the hell they want to believe.
