Even #RomneyShambles isn't enough to save Mitt from tax return question

Chart showing Mitt Romney has only released one tax return in last two decades. All things considered, I'll bet Mitt Romney was relieved about this:
Even on foreign soil Mitt Romney wasn't able to dodge the tax return question this week.

In an interview on NBC's Today Show, Mr. Romney again refused to release additional years of returns. 'We just laid out exactly what is required by law, which is all of our financial statements, and then in addition two years of tax reports, just like John McCain put out,' the Republican presidential hopeful said Friday.

Yeah, okay, nice line ... but it's false. Romney has released just one year of returns, minus a key document detailing his Swiss bank account. But he hasn't released the second year, and won't until October'if he does at all.

And his explanation for the secrecy is still as bad as ever:

Mr. Romney also offered an explanation for why he's holding out on releasing additional years: 'my guess is if you decide to do more and more and more, you just give [...] the opposition the chance to distort and twist and be dishonest about more material.'
In other words, the only thing worse than your imagination and my rival's imagination about what's in my tax returns ... is what's actually in my tax returns.
