Sarasota Republican Club honors Donald Trump as 'Statesman of the Year'

Donald Trump pointing his finger And by "statesman," we mean rich. Same thing. (Joshua Roberts/Reuters) You depress me, Florida. There are no words to describe this:
[Donald Trump] is being honored as 'Statesman of the Year' by the Sarasota Republican Club in Florida, a day before the beginning of the Republican National Convention. [...]

'It would seem obvious that Donald Trump will play a role at the Tampa convention, as his massive popularity, reflected in this recent award, shows what an asset he would be in making the convention into an even greater success,' Trump spokesman Michael Cohen told Politico.

So according to at least the Republicans in Sarasota, Florida, the person that best exemplifies what they consider to be statesmanlike behavior, something their entire party ought to be emulating, is ... Donald Trump.

Discuss.
