Mitt Romney raises $12.6 million in March, Karl Rove Super PAC hits $100 million for 2012 cycle

Mitt Romney Mitt Romney's campaign has announced it raised $12.6 million in March, slightly up from February's $10.5 million. The campaign said it had $10.1 million cash on hand at the end of the month.

Meanwhile, Karl Rove's American Crossroads Super PAC announced it had raised $49 million in the first quarter alone, more than 50 percent more than Mitt Romney, bringing its total raised to $100 million for the 2012 cycle. It has $24 million in the bank.

Romney's "Restore our Future" Super PAC hasn't announced it's results yet, but between Romney's campaign, his Super PAC, and Rove's group, total fundraising for the cycle will be well over $200 million through the end of March. Rick Santorum was still an active candidate during that time, so fundraising is likely to pick up pace.

President Obama's reelection campaign and the Democratic National Committee raised a combined $53 million last month, bringing the cycle total to $350 million.
