Former employee at shuttered factory: Mitt Romney and Bain made millions and 'devastated our lives'

The latest ad from Priorities USA, the pro-Obama Super PAC run by Paul Begala and Bill Burton: a minute-long spot featuring Mike Earnest, a former employee at Indiana's American Pad and Paper, delivering his testimonial about how Mitt Romney and Bain Capital not only made $100 million while putting him out of work'but made him build the stage from which his plant's closing was announced. "It was like building my own coffin," Earnest says.

Out of the blue one day, we were told to build a 30-foot stage. Gathered the guys, and we built that 30-foot stage, not knowing what it was for.

Just days later, all three shifts were told to assemble in the warehouse. A group of people walked out on that stage, and told us that the plant is now closed, and all of you are fired. I looked both ways, I looked at the crowd, and we all just lost our jobs. We don't have an income.

Mitt Romney made over a hundred million dollars by shutting down our plant, and devastated our lives. Turns out that when we built that stage, it was like building my own coffin. And it just made me sick.

Priorities USA has consistently put out terrific ads in 2012, but this is their best work yet. It not only serves as a powerful and emotional indictment of Mitt Romney's business practices, but it's something of a parable for 2012: By electing Mitt Romney, America would be building its own coffin, just like Mike Earnest did in 1994. The difference: This time we have a choice.
