Confirmation from Mitt Romney's director of communications, Gail Gitchco:
' @ggitcho via web National Review's Robert Costa says Mitt Romney's plane is rumored to be parked in Janesville, Wisconsin ... the home of Paul Ryan. Dare we dream?
8:25 PM PT: The announcement will be at 9:00 AM ET. Can't you feel the excitement. Mittmentum!
8:28 PM PT: Carl Cameron reports that Romney will announce his VP pick tomorrow morning in Norfolk, Va. All Signs seem to point to Paul Ryan.
' @BretBaier via Twittelator Norfolking way could Obama be this lucky ... or could he?
8:30 PM PT: At this point, if it's not Ryan, conservatives are going to flip their shit. So unless you believe Mitt Romney is the dumbest politician alive, it's definitely Paul Ryan. On the other hand, if Mitt Romney does pick Paul Ryan, then he's also the dumbest politician alive. We'll see.
8:33 PM PT: Good point by Ben Smith:
Choosing Ryan would = abandoning the idea that Romney can win a referendum on Obama, and running on a clear alternative.' @BuzzFeedBen via TweetDeck I think that's pretty much the CW, and in this case, I think it's right.
8:39 PM PT: Remember when Friday nights were when politicians dumped bad news? When they hoped to bury stories over the weekend? I wonder if that's their goal here.
8:40 PM PT: I sense the Ryan thing is a head fake but we shall see— @PatrickRuffini via Twitter for iPhone
8:50 PM PT: So if it's not Paul Ryan, then it would have to be someone who won't be a huge let down for conservatives, right? And that means it would probably have to be Bobby Jindal, Marco Rubio, or Chris Christie, if not Ryan, right?
