Reid refuses to participate in idiot war road show

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) gestures while addressing the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado, August 27, 2008. Democrats nominated Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) on Wednesday as their presidential candidate in a historic first for a black American, sending him into battle against Republican John McCain.     REUTERS/Chris Wattie (UNITED STATES)  US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION CAMPAIGN 2008  (USA) Harry Reid is finally having some fun. The idiot war road show, featuring Sens. John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Kelly Ayotte, is making a stop in Las Vegas. The three senators are doing a tour of states with large military presences to try to drum up fear about how the automatic budget cuts set to kick in at the beginning of next year will doom the United States. We must, they say, find other cuts (e.g., entitlements). Think of it as a mini-catfood commission, with armaments.

Undoubtedly thinking it would be cute to show up in the Senate Majority Leader's home state, the trio is in Las Vegas and has invited Harry Reid to appear with them. But he's refusing to play their game.

'Senator Reid has said many times by refusing to replace cuts with revenues, Republicans are putting millionaires ahead of the middle class and the military,' Reid spokeswoman Kristen Orthman said in an e-mail.
Harry Reid in election mode kind of rocks. This is the Harry Reid we need to be holding the line on the Bush tax cuts, and this is the Harry Reid we've got, apparently. He knows he's got the upper hand in this debate. He's already had one big win. He doesn't need to play any GOP games.
