Karl Rove wonders why his bullcrap didn't fly

"Why, oh why didn't people buy my lies?" Rove is confused.

Tactically, Republicans must rigorously re-examine their "72-hour" ground game and reverse-engineer the Democratic get-out-the-vote effort in order to copy what works. For example, a postelection survey shows that the Democratic campaign ground game was more effective in communicating negative information. It would be good to know why'and how to counter such tactics in the future.

Why? Because our attacks on Mitt Romney (out-of-touch rich asshole) were based on reality, while their attacks on Barack Obama (Kenyan muslim atheist socialist) were crazy.

Heck, Republicans are lucky that people didn't believe they were so extreme as to want to destroy Medicare and Social Security. Otherwise, they wouldn't have come within 10 points of the president.

So give that one a shot, Karl. Stick to the facts next time. The media world is no longer dominated by Drudge and Fox. Your ability to create a fake reality at will is finished. So give reality a shot.

You'll still lose, but then you won't have to sit and wonder why people didn't buy your hundreds of millions of dollars of bullshit.
