Hooray! It's Republican-says-something-stupid-about-rape o'clock again!

Because Republicans are physically incapable of going more than a week without saying something jaw-droppingly stupid about rape, presenting this week's submission:

An activist working on behalf of liberal group FUSE Washington asked questions of Republican hopeful John Koster during a fundraiser Sunday. Koster said he does not oppose abortion when the life of the mother is in danger but then explains he would oppose it when it involves rape or incest.

Koster twice uses the phrase "the rape thing" when describing his views, first saying that he knows a woman who was raped and gave up the child for adoption without any regrets.

"But on the rape thing, it's like, how does putting more violence onto a woman's body and taking the life of an innocent child that's a consequence of this crime, how does that make it better?" Koster said in the exchange.

Yeah! It's like, just because you were raped, that's no reason you should be allowed to decide you don't want to have a baby because that wouldn't be fair to you, now, would it? After all, John Koster once knew a woman who was raped (you don't know her, she goes to a different school'in the Niagra Falls area), and she had her rapist's baby and she thought it was great, so the rest of you ladies who've, like, experienced the violence of the rape thing, well, you should be like her and think it's great too. It's like that.
