Allen West miffed that Patrick Murphy is attending orientation he was invited to

The Allen West campaign is very, very disappointed that Patrick Murphy, the apparent winner in the race to represent Florida's 18th congressional district, is acting like a winner and is attending orientation for new members.

'I think it is premature of him,' Tim Edson, West's campaign manager, said on a conference call Wednesday. 'I understand he would like to move on and wrap this up, but for someone who claims to be certified public accountant, you would expect him to be a little more concerned about the shifting numbers and the inaccuracies of these numbers.'

Tim Edson is apparently as dumb as his boss. Because this. Murphy was invited, dumbasses.

When a race is unresolved, the committee still invites candidates to Washington for the orientation sessions. This year, with Election Day falling on Nov. 6 and butting up against Veterans Day and an early Thanksgiving, there was little time to tuck in training for the new members. So the freshmen were summoned to town only seven days after votes were cast. But if a winner is declared before the week is out, the loser is quickly disinvited.

West's ultimate goal is to delegitimize Murphy's win, which is one of the reasons he keeps abusing the legal system. The latest effort is a complaint filed Tuesday to "force the St. Lucie County canvassing board to recount all eight days of early voting before certifying its election results." This may or may not supercede his earlier filing to impound all of the ballots and tabulating machines in the county, filed last week. A similar complaint in Palm Beach County was thrown out as being 'entirely premature."

Meanwhile, state elections officials are in St. Lucie County today to verify that the partial recount St. Lucie County did of the final three days of the early vote (done because they discovered a problem with memory cartridges used on those three days) was done appropriately, and to determine if a full recount of early voting should be done. The results are scheduled to be officially certified on Friday, and Murphy's win is expected to hold.

But West has more than $3 million to burn, left over from the election (in which he spent $10 million more than Murphy!). He's obviously going to fight this as long as the courts will allow.
