6:13 PM PT: Things are starting to heat up'from Romney. He's launching the first volley of attacks, and is veering closer to lecturing mode.
6:14 PM PT: Mitt Romney: "I'm not going to cut taxes for people with high income.' That's just an absolute, bald faced lie.— @chrislhayes via web
6:15 PM PT: Okay, so Romney says he won't cut taxes on the wealthy. But he will cut taxes on middle-class families. And we won't add to the deficit. It doesn't take a genius to see that kind of a plan doesn't add up. The math just doesn't work.
6:16 PM PT: President Obama: "The problem is, he's been asked more than a hundred times" to explain where the loopholes are that he'd close, but he hasn't shown how his plan would work.
6:16 PM PT: Obama cites the TPC analysis which showed the only way Romney's plan works without raising the deficit is to raise taxes on the middle class.
6:17 PM PT: Romney interrupts Jim Lehrer.
6:18 PM PT: Romney seems to believe that as long as he says it loud enough, his plan isn't impossible.
6:18 PM PT: I wonder if people realize the gibberish Romney is spewing here. He's simultaneously saying he's going to lower taxes ... and that he won't lower taxes.
6:19 PM PT: Obama says Romney is not possible. "It's math. It's arithmetic."
6:20 PM PT: Mitt Romney stores his tax plan's math in the Cayman Islands.— @LOLGOP via web
6:21 PM PT: Hmmm. Charming Mitt wants his time, damnit!
6:22 PM PT (Kaili Joy Gray): New thread here.
