Mitt Romney collects more than $100 million in June

Bundles of Cash Mitt Romney is still more wealthy than his presidential campaign.

Probably.

Last month, he raised an eye-popping $100 million, a figure made possible by the joint committee established with the RNC that allows him to take donations of $75,000 per individual.

Romney's $100 million-plus haul is up from his $77 million take last month. The Obama campaign hasn't released its June fundraising numbers, but given that Romney outraised Obama by $17 million last month, it seems likely that he will be outraised this month as well.

In September, 2008, Obama raised $150 million. That's still the record for monthly fundraising totals, but Romney's $100 million month doesn't include the tens of millions raked in by Super PACs and other independent groups on his behalf. Sheldon Adelson alone donated $10 million apiece to the Koch brother's anti-Obama efforts and to Romney's Super PAC.

Romney overall had raised $121 million through last month, so he is now approaching a quarter-billion dollars'nearly equal to the upper estimates of his net worth.
