Catholic Church tries not to be too sad that Americans don't care about 'religious freedom'

But my book says liberty blah blah blah something! Oh, what a sad day to be a member of the world's biggest and most powerful pedophile protection racket, aka, the hierarchy of the Catholic Church.

The Vatican sent a letter to the president, congratulating him on his re-election, and tossing in this lovely jab:

The Vatican hoped Obama would be able to serve law and justice "in respect of the essential human and spiritual values and the promotion of the culture of life and freedom of religion, which have always been so precious in the traditions of the American people and their culture," a spokesman said.

And in case that wasn't sufficient, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops'who is no doubt having himself a real sad today that Americans prefer their evil birth control to Dolan's precious feelings about freedom'also sent a letter:

We will continue to stand in defense of life, marriage, and our first, most cherished liberty, religious freedom.We pray, too, that you will help restore a sense of civility to the public order, so our public conversations may be imbued with respect and charity toward everyone.

Because who better understands the importance of civility and respect toward everyone than the organization who has aggressively campaigned'without fear of losing its tax exemption status, apparently'against Democrats because gays and vaginas make Jesus cry? In his second term, the president should definitely seek guidance from the men who would rather shut down their hospitals and charities than have to, you know, work with gay people or let women talk to their doctors without a handwritten note from the pope.

Poor Catholic Church. What a sad day for "religious freedom"'and a wonderful day for America.
