Boehner: Debt deal? I didn't have anything to do with any debt deal!

John Boehner Boehner: "Who? Me?" Here we go again.
As they pack their bags for a five-week summer recess, members of Congress who supported the 2011 debt limit law in droves are trying to wipe their hands clean of its worst parts, blaming anyone they can for the painful automatic cuts poised to take effect in the new year.

House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid are accusing one another of proposing the cuts while Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is pointing the finger at President Barack Obama for being absent during the debt debate.

Let's rewind to August 1, 2011.
Boehner: [...] When you look at this final agreement that we came to with the White House, I got 98 percent of what I wanted. I'm pretty happy.
Speaker Pelosi project bug
There's one person who is ultimately responsible for this debacle, and it's John Boehner. Boehner couldn't control his insane caucus and keep them from taking the nation's economy hostage with their refusal'their unprecedented refusal'to raise the debt ceiling. It's Boehner's fault that he has let Grover Norquist be the real leader of the Republican caucus. It's ultimately Boehner's fault, though he had a lot of assistance from McConnell, that Congress has ceased to be a functioning governing body.

Boehner got 98 percent of what he wanted. He can pretend all he wants that he wasn't in the room when the decisions were made, but then there's reality'and his own words on video'to prove otherwise.

Get Boehner out of the speaker's chair. Please give $1 to all of the Orange to Blue House candidates on ActBlue, and get the gavel back to Nancy Pelosi.
