No, Ohio is not a tossup

Obama sign in Ohio October 9, 2012 A tossup because if Romney doesn't win it, he loses. Chris Cillizza and Aaron Blake, being downright silly.
The Fix is moving Ohio from 'lean Obama' to 'toss up' in our presidential ratings amid a slew of polling that suggests that the race has tightened over the past month, even as the incumbent retains the slightest of edges.
Has the race tightened over the last month? Here is the last month:
It had tightened, but then it untightened. If they were going to change ratings because of the polls, they should've done it two weeks ago, in time to change the race back to lean-Obama this week.

But that's not the only reason for their switch!

That ' coupled with the state's electoral history and the absolute necessity for Romney to win the state if he wants to be president ' leads us to move it back to the 'tossup' category.
The "absolute necessity for Romney to win the state" is now a reason to make something a toss-up?

How do Cillizza and Blake ever pick a favorite to win the Super Bowl, what with the absolute necessity for both teams to win if they want to be the champs? Heck, let's just call tonight's NFL game between the Chiefs (1-6) and Chargers (3-4) a pick 'em because, you know, the Chiefs must absolutely necessarily win in order to keep their Super Bowl chances alive!

Romney also has to win Texas. Is that a tossup too?

Sheesh.

Then again, as silly as Cillizza and Blake are, they'll never be as stupid as this:

New Dick Morris email: "[Obama] now has only one goal: win the Electoral College and grab the presidency!" DASTARDLY FIEND!
