Scott Brown: Poor people shouldn't be voting because ... ACORN!!!

You can only vote if your barn coat costs $675. Scott Brown has moved from looking kooky to looking desperate to now looking unhinged over his contention that the state of Massachusetts, in complying with a 1993 voter law, is out to get him.

Sen. Scott Brown is demanding Elizabeth Warren reimburse Massachusetts $276,000 to cover the cost of mailing voter registration forms to more than 500,000 welfare recipients, a move Brown alleges is designed to help Warren's campaign.

'It's been disturbing for a lot of people to learn that the state's welfare department undertook an unprecedented voter registration drive at the behest of Elizabeth Warren's daughter and the organization she represents,' Brown said in a statement Friday. 'It is clear that this was done to aid Elizabeth Warren's Senate campaign.'

But work on the lawsuit that led to the mailings began in early 2011, months before the Democrat even entered the race against Brown, according to an attorney working on the case.

Hey Scottie, it's not about you. It's fucking federal law! Yes, for nearly 20 years the nation has recognized that the poors get to vote, too. In 1993 Congress passed the National Voter Registration Act (Motor-Voter) to make sure it could happen. If you weren't such a dimwit, you might understand how states are supposed to, you know, follow federal law. And when they don't, they can, you know, be sued. The good states do the right thing, the thing that they're supposed to do under the law. The bad states fight it.

Of course, we know Scott Brown doesn't want the poors to be able to vote. He tried to keep them out of the polls when he was in the legislature, repeatedly acting as lead sponsor on voter ID bills. He's still having that fight as a sitting U.S. senator, arguing that his state should be breaking federal law and keeping people out of the polls. That's despite the fact that he supposedly understands that whole poor thing, 'I remember what it's like to have a single mom raising a family. [...] It's not about that. It's not about getting people out to vote."

No, Scottie, where you're coming from it's all about keeping people from voting. That whole ACORN thing you invoke in your press release proves it.

When you lose to Elizabeth Warren, Scottie, it won't be because the state of Massachusetts conspired against you. It will be because the voters of Massachusetts woke up to the fact that you are just another far-right Republican.
