Pitching Obamacare to the uninsured

The Obama administration is aiming for a July roll-out for their campaign to reach the uninsured, letting them know they'll be eligible for health insurance and how to get it. Enrollment begins in October. That's a short timeline, but they have a reason.
'If we get too much of a head start with beneficiaries about what they can expect in 2014, ' but say that it's not available to you for six months or seven months, then folks tend to lose interest,' Marilyn Tavenner, the acting administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, told the Federation of American Hospitals at its Washington conference Tuesday.
The administration will work with hospitals and community groups to get the word out. Organizing for Action, the new non-profit grassroots machine built out of Obama's campaign, and Enroll America, a large coalition of health care advocacy organizations, will pick up much of the tab for the outreach effort, so that this aspect of implementing the new law shouldn't be hampered by funding cuts from the sequester.
