Eric Cantor: The sequester is a total disaster, except when it's not

Nice catch from Steve Benen on Eric Cantor's own moving of goalposts when it comes to the sequester. Just six short months ago, here's what he had to say:
"The sequester will harm important domestic priorities such as education, medical research, law enforcement, national security, and jobs."
And here he is this week.
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) on Thursday blasted President Obama for touring around the country "scaring people, creating havoc" instead of working on a replacement for the sequester. [...]
The House adjourned yesterday for a long weekend, without acting on a replacement for the sequester that kicks in today. Of course. Havoc is the Republican goal. Manufactured crisis is their stock in trade. Never mind that the message is utterly incoherent from one fight to the next. The goal is to create as big a mess as possible, and then blame it all on Obama. Lather, rinse, repeat.
