GOP Madness, 2012! Round 1, match 2

Yesterday's match, between Romney's "Michigan trees are the right height" and the GOP debate audience booing the gay soldier wasn't much of a contest'the hateful audience won 82-17. While I didn't add seeds to these matchups, yesterday's winner looks like a solid number one seed.

You can see the bracket so far here. So on to today's matchups:

1. FOR EVERY WOMAN CAIN HARASSED, THERE ARE THOUSANDS HE DIDN'T

Herman Cain thought he had the whole thing in the bag. He was riding so high in the GOP primary polling that he was openly talking about who might serve in his cabinet and as his veep (answer: Jim DeMint or Paul Ryan). A few weeks later, he was hit by revelations that he was a serial sexual harasser, and had even paid out significant coinage to settle several of the claims. He was forced to respond, and did so at one of the 2,452 GOP debates:

"I value my character and my integrity more than anything else. And for every one person that comes forward with a false accusation, there are probably, there are thousands who would say none of that sort of activity ever came from Herman Cain."

So literally speaking, Cain just harassed one out of every 2-3,000 women, which was totally cool and acceptable to conservative voters who cheered wildly at his response.

2. RICK PERRY SAYS DREAM ACT OPPONENTS HAVE NO HEART

Speaking of riding high in the polls, that was Rick Perry, Circa September 2011, having entered the race with great flourish and bumping Michele Bachmann off the top of the polls. Then he attended the debates.

His debate performances are a thing of legend, and at least one more of his debate moments will make an appearance in this competition (you can probably guess which one). But none had a greater impact on his electoral chances than the one time he slipped up and told conservative voters the truth:

'If you say that we should not educate children who have come into our state for no other reason than they have been brought there by no fault of their own, I don't think you have a heart."

Yeah, he went there. And the same conservative voters who were more than happy to give Herman Cain a boost after he talked about the thousands of women he hadn't harassed, couldn't forgive Perry's apostasy:
