Tommy Thompson's medical device profits problem

Tommy Thompson on the phone Tommy Thompson, dialing for dollars. Tommy Thompson is turning out to be pretty damned sleazy. The huge personal profit he got just last month for being a volunteer board member for CR Bard was bad enough. It also doesn't help that CR Bard is the maker of transvaginal mesh patches that have been linked to many serious and even irreversible complications, resulting nearly 4,000 lawsuits and, so far, $184 million paid out in 2,800 of those suits.

But now, on top of the that, he also got a $5,000 in campaign contributions from the company, which he failed to report to the FEC on time to comply with federal election laws.

Goal Thermometer

In summary, Thompson tried to skirt the law by illegally delaying the reporting of the campaign donation he received from a company which has made obscene profits by pushing faulty products on thousands of innocent and unsuspecting victims, and which has outsourced so many American jobs. He probably did not want to draw further attention to the way he also profited from their maleficent actions or how he is advocating for this company to get even bigger tax breaks than they already have.
This is all the lobbying that Thompson had to do, he says because his shopping-addicted wife was nagging him about making more money. So he exploited all the contacts he'd made while secretary of HHS under Bush and picked a company that has done irreparable physical harm to thousands of women, profiting both personally and politically. Lovely.

Please help Tammy Baldwin win this.
