Fox News digital politics editor Chris Stirewalt tries to reassure the Fox audience that everything is going to be okay for Mitt Romney by telling them that the video tape of him writing off half of America might turn out to be a big political win.
Now it is debatable whether this will end up being a net benefit or a negative for Mitt Romney. It depends on how the campaign handles it, it depends on how it plays, and all of those things. [...] It's not just conservatives who are looking at this and saying that there is the possibility for real goodness in this for Romney, because if you think back to the best time that his campaign has had, it was in the weeks leading up to the Republican National Convention when Paul Ryan came out as his running mate. And what was the word that you heard out of Boston, endlessly, endlessly, endlessly? Bold. [...] Well with this out there now, Romney doesn't have much choice but to be bold, and be bold with that message that says, look, for the 53 percent who do pay, this is not the right deal, and he wants them to get together and back his candidacy.Oh, yeah. Sure. This is great news for Mitt Romney. So great that it's amazing he decided to wait until now to embrace it. I mean, he's got to be kicking himself, having wasted all these months since that video was recorded, ignoring this obvious opportunity to score big points. Yep, Mitt Romney owes a debt of gratitude to Mother Jones and David Corn. A big fat one indeed.
