A special week of Daily Kos Radio for the convention

Daily Kos Radio logo Armando and I are on our way to Charlotte today for special coverage of the 2012 Democratic National Convention. And that means we're going to be juggling a different schedule this week, but bringing you some exciting new stuff. Here's how you can follow along.

First, we'll be traveling today, so we won't be on hand to bring you new shows in our regular 9 a.m to 12 p.m. ET slots, though we should have a few "encore performances" cued up and ready to help you make it through the morning. Similarly, I'll be on my way back home on Friday, and so unable to join you in the morning.

But here's the exciting part. In between'that is, Tuesday through Thursday'we'll be broadcasting what we're very cleverly calling Daily Kos Radio LIVE, from 12-2 p.m. ET on the SiriusXM Convention Radio channel (ch. 142), which will also be simulcast online at SiriusXM Left Plus online. And you can even listen in online with a free trial. Listen on your iPhone, iPad or iPod, or your Android-y thing.

But we won't leave you hanging on our regular Daily Kos Radio broadcasts. We'll still hit the "air" at 9 a.m. ET, Tuesday through Thursday, for an abbreviated one hour morning kick-off. And if all goes well, we'll get back on at 5 p.m. for more discussion and a preview of the upcoming speeches.

So listen for us at 9 a.m., and again at 5 p.m.. You'll find us in all the regular ways. For instance,  this one:

Hear today's shows from 9-12 am ET, right here:The Daily Kos Radio Player

Can't see the Flash player? Click here to download the stream directly.

Other Ways to Listen

Your options to listen LIVE:

  • Click on the embedded Flash player below
  • Go to netrootsradio.com and click on the embedded player or direct link there
  • Click on this direct link if you need a non-Flash player, say, for iPad or iPhone
  • iPad and iPhone users can download the SHOUTCast Radio app for your mobile device & search for "Netroots Radio."
  • For Android: try either the "StreamFurious"  or "TuneIn" apps
  • BlackBerry users, see this guide by idbecrazyif

And here's a new tip: If the player hiccups in between shows, or drops the audio between the shows, just go ahead and stop and restart it, and things should go smoothly after that.

And if you miss the show, or just can't listen live, you'll find podcasts on the Daily Kos Radio group page. Plus, they're downloadable via RSS, or find them on demand at Stitcher.com.

And if you miss our SiriusXM shows, they'll repeat later in the day, from 4-6 p.m. ET on Tuesday and Wednesday, but on Thursday, just our second hour will repeat, from 5-6 p.m.

Remember that the "Kagro in the Morning" show is now available via Stitcher.com, meaning you can download their free app on your desktop or on your mobile device, and listen to our podcasts on demand.

You'd be doing us a big favor it you'd download their app on your phone, search for the show, "favorite" it and help us take over the world.

Also new on the tech side is our change in podcasting platforms, which brings with it an easy-to-use RSS feed, which enables you to download podcasts automatically, directly to iTunes. Also, this is the part in our sad, downward spiral where I ask you to Like us on Facebook, may God forgive me.

See you at the convention! Only not really! Because it's radio! Only it's also not actually radio! So forget what I said! Just tune in!
