that they've once again successfully accomplished nothing. An interesting premise:
House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) welcomed House Republicans back to Washington Tuesday and said that Mitt Romney's selection of Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) as his running mate 'validated all the work House Republicans have done over the past 19 months.'Hmm. I can see why he would think that. After all, the one thing the House Republicans have done exceedingly well is nothing; they are very, very good at blocking things, at refusing to do things, at threatening economic armageddon rather than actually do things'even the legislation they do pass is more focused on stopping government from doing things, things like enforcing environmental regulation or implementing healthcare laws.
Having Romney pick one of their own, then, would indeed seem to "validate" that the tea-partyesque, anti-government, do-nothing wing of the party is absolutely dominant. Romney had to pick someone from the far-right ranks or face rebellion; now that he has, the far right sees it as vindication.
