British Citizen and CNN television host Piers Morgan is engaged in a hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution by targeting the Second Amendment. We demand that Mr. Morgan be deported immediately for his effort to undermine the Bill of Rights and for exploiting his position as a national network television host to stage attacks against the rights of American citizens. The administration asserts it will respond to any petition on the site with 25,000 or more signatures on it; this particular petition already has more than three times that. (Morgan himself suggested to his fans that they sign it as well; there is, sadly, no White House breakdown of how many people signed the petition ironically. A serious oversight, that.)
Now, there are some damn fine reasons to roll your eyes at Piers Morgan's version of journalism, the record will show, and to wonder why, given that CNN has a world's worth of people to hire, they chose to hire someone who was up to his eyebrows in the Murdoch, Inc., butchering of journalistic ethics that brought down the Sun. No matter; CNN is not exactly a journalistic powerhouse themselves, these days, so they are probably a match made for one another.
But deporting someone for not sufficiently kowtowing to the NRA hardline? Really, now? That's just sad on so many levels.
