Michele Bachmann is back and is, if possible, even crazier than ever

Republican candidate for president U.S. Representative Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) (C) holds a news conference with Representative Louie Gohmert (R-TX) (L) and Representative Steve King (R-IA) (R) to discuss the debt ceiling and military benefits, at the U.S Crackpots, the lot of them. Here we had just been talking about how we hadn't heard anything batshit crazy from Michele Bachmann for some time, but lo and behold, she's back with a vengeance. Oh, she's going all-out on this one. Full tilt crazy:
During the interview, Bachmann warned that Israel and the American people are in grave danger due to President Obama's purported support of radical Islamists: 'President Obama, if you look at nearly every decision he has made about this issue, it is to lift up the Islamists and to take down Israel.'

She also claimed that the Obama administration's supposed 'Islamic speech codes' could be 'deadly for the American people.'

Bachmann also told Barger that everyone who is not an Islamist will 'lose their right of speech and expression' as there is 'no tolerance for dissent or disagreeing in any way with the goals or the beliefs of the Islamists.'

There's about 1,000 more words to go along with those, all based on the United Nations and "Islamist" groups coming to take your free speech away, institute sharia, and so on. As a fun exercise for anyone wondering just how crazy and just plain vicious conservative heroine Bachmann is, you can just go through her little monologue replacing "Islamist" with "Jew" everywhere and see if that transcript would finally have resulted in this execrable little twerp being run out of congress on a rail. Heck, replace it with Christian or Hindu or Shinto or Jedi for that matter, it won't make any more or less sense. She won't get in trouble, though, because having absolutely no-question-about-it batshit insane conspiracy theories is a required part of "true" conservatism these days, as is frothing bigotry against Latinos, gay people, Muslims, or take your effing pick. The list of people you're allowed to have frothing bigotries against may be getting smaller by the decade, but conservatives like Bachmann make up for it by just getting louder.

So there's Michele Bachmann, actual congressperson, actual supposedly-plausible candidate for the presidency, not currently in any asylum or under the care of any more responsible adult, actual person who gets to vote on what laws America should have, a person actually reelected by a Minnesotan constituency presumably made up at this point primarily of militia members and people huffing paint fumes, opining on the terrible menace of Obama and the United Nations and some Muslim group somewhere putting us all under a religious dictatorship any moment now. This is the modern Republican Party.
