American Family Association guy says overturning DOMA or Prop. 8 will be 'end of democracy'

Sigh. Here's American Family Association spokesthing Bryan Fischer, writing on AFA.net, but whose views "do not necessarily reflect" the AFA, according to the italicized disclaimer on the bottom of the page, ranting about how unapproved sexytimes is going to be the death of us all.

If the Supreme Court overturns [the Defense of Marriage Act], it will be the end of representative government in the United States. ['] For the Supreme Court to dump DOMA in a landfill would mean, from a practical standpoint, that we just ought to close down Congress and turn everything over to our black-robed overlords.

Yeah, yeah, we're all doomed.

['] For the Supreme Court to dump Prop 8 in the landfill would mean, from a practical standpoint, that we ought to officially disenfranchise every American voter - since they will have in effect lost the right to have their votes count for anything anyway - and turn everything - even state policy - over to a nine-member Politburo which never, ever has to answer to the people over whom they exercise such dictatorial power.

Oh, the drama. Oh, the whining. Check out Bryan here, who was just fine with Bush v. Gore but who has determined that not properly recognizing his own personal bigotries will mean the end of the republic. This can only mean it must be a day of the week ending in Y.

Does everything have to be an existential crisis with these people? I realize all of American religion has now been pruned down the the bare-bones messages about how other people are not allowed to have sex if you disapprove of it, but I can think of 20 different things more likely to result in an "end of democracy in the United States" than the overturning of DOMA or California's Prop 8. The Mitt Romney campaign actually had to kowtow to this hate-filled blowhard, remember?

Among other things, these people have no volume control knobs. And yet they run the conservative movement, because ... wait, because why, again?
