Meet Mitt Romney's 'old friend,' wealthy fundraising sex-partier Marc Leder

The person who played host for the Mitt Romney fundraiser that is now getting so much, ahem, attention has finally gotten back to the press with a comment on the whole thing. In it, he says "blah blah, generic blah."

In a statement first given to Fortune, Leder says: "I hosted a fundraiser for an old friend in May. I believe all Americans should have the opportunity to succeed, to improve their lives, and to build even better lives for their children. I have supported people from both political parties who share this view and make it a priority, even though their ideas on how to achieve it may differ."

Yeah, he's a patriot, that one. But the name Marc Leder may be familiar, as he is the co-chief-executive of Sun Capital Partners, a private equity group very similar to Mitt Romney's own Bain Capital, and with a similar record of leveraged buyouts (the practice of borrowing other people's money to take over unrelated companies, upon which magic happens, depending on your definition of magic).

No? Still doesn't ring a bell? All right, what if I just told you he was The Famous Orgy Guy?

[T]he party was 'tame' for Leder, whose wild end-of-summer bash was the talk of the Hamptons this year. At the Bridgehampton home that Leder rented for a whopping $500,000 a month, guests cavorted nude in a pool and performed sex acts, while scantily clad Russian women danced on platforms.

I'm beginning to get a clearer picture of how the people in Mitt Romney's social class spend their days: $50,000-per-plate fundraisers at their Boca Raton homes, maybe summering in the Hamptons when the Florida weather gets to be a bit much, oops, but now we're bored so how about holding a six-figure sex party? Oh, but there's another Hamptons fundraiser to attend as well, yet another opportunity to complain about how the commoners just don't understand what's best for them. Hopefully this one will at least have a VIP entrance, since we are all VIPs here.

You can see why these people feel so set upon, and why they so happily embrace Mitt Romney's message of lowering their taxes and sticking it to the ungrateful bastards cleaning their pools. Isn't it everyone but the very topmost %0.1 of the nation that are being the slackers, here?

I'm still waiting for Mitt Romney to come up with a better excuse for why he and his richest supporters got together to slam half the nation as hopeless, coddled ingrates. My theory is that the videotape merely shows snippets from a party game enjoyed by wealthy Americans such as Romney and Leder; in this game, each partygoer stands up and attempts to be the biggest possible asshole for an extended period of time. And the name of that party game is: the Aristocrats.
