At least some Republicans are backing Mitt's smirking attack

It looks like we're going to hear from every member of the conservative peanut gallery before this thing is over. Now Donald Rumsfeld is weighing in, if "using Twitter to text foreign policy pronouncements" can really count as weighing in:

The attacks on our embassies & diplomats are a result of perceived American weakness. Mitt Romney is right to point that out.

I'm not sure who Donald Rumsfeld wants us to bomb now, but if starting two decade-long wars wasn't enough to convince a bunch of random attackers of our non-weakness, I'm not sure what we're supposed to do next.

We already know Reince Priebus is a rotten human being, but now I'm thinking "rotten human being" is the only qualification needed to run the modern Republican Party, so it fits. In any event, Reince is turning into a dumber Rush Limbaugh:

Obama sympathizes with attackers in Egypt.  Sad and pathetic.

This diarist is right: Priebus needs to resign. Or rather, if the Republican Party still had an ounce of shame left in them they'd toss him out on his ear. As we've seen, they don't.

Then there's the also-rans, people who Mitt Romney beat in the primaries because they were just so gawdawful that even a Wall Street vulture capitalist with no apparent social skills looked like the better choice in comparison.

The #MSM is hammering #Romney? Sure, that makes sense. Go after someone standing up for #FreeSpeech http://t.co/...

That's so dumb I don't even know where to begin.  Mitt was standing up for free speech during his smirking press conference denouncing the president for "sympathizing" with the Libyan attackers because why, now? Because embassy staff members tweeted condemnation of a rabid anti-Muslim propaganda movie before the attacks? The same movie Mitt and everyone else proceeded to condemn as well? Is that how you go from Mitt's debacle to "free speech"?

I am glad Mitt Romney defended America and free speech. It is clear President Obama is too busy appeasing radicals to defend free speech

Yeah, that's even dumber. You win. You managed to take what Herman Cain said, turn the attack knob up to eleven, and then lick the knob so nobody else would want to touch it. Congratulations.

This whole damn party is nuts. Totally nuts. Take a look, Republicans, these are the people you were putting up as presidential material. If this isn't evidence of a political movement that has gone completely off the rails, I don't know what would be.
