The new Orange hue in Congress

U.S. Capitol building at sunset. And I'm not talking about John Boehner. Now that the 113th Congress has been sworn in, we can really celebrate the outstanding election we had in 2012, thanks in large part to all of you who helped us raise almost $3.2 million for our candidates. We helped elect six senators and ten representatives. Not to mention winning every marriage equality ballot measure.

Congratulations to these Orange to Blue members of the 113th Congress:

Senate:

  • Sen. Tammy Baldwin (WI)
  • Sen. Sherrod Brown (OH)
  • Sen. Martin Heinrich (NM)
  • Sen. Mazie Hirono (HI)
  • Sen. Chris Murphy (CT)
  • Sen. Elizabeth Warren (MA)

House:

  • Rep. Ami Bera (CA-07)
  • Rep. Lois Frankel (FL-22)
  • Rep. Joe Garcia (FL-26)
  • Rep. Ann McLane Kuster (NH-02)
  • Rep. Alan Lowenthal (CA-47)
  • Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18)
  • Rep. Patrick Murphy (FL-18)
  • Rep. Rick Nolan (MN-08)
  • Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (NH-01)
  • Rep. Mark Takano (CA-41)

And congratulations to everyone in this community who helped make it happen. From the entire staff of Daily Kos, thank you for helping to make our Senate better, our House look more like the country as a whole, and advancing the cause of equality for the LGBT community.
