Ann Romney tells dumb lady voters to vote Mitt or else

These people really do think they are better than you Given that Ann Romney delivered the dumbest convention speech in the history of candidates' spouses giving convention speeches, she probably should stop talking to voters like they're idiots. Which means, of course, that she won't.

Ann Romney today:

"Women, you need to wake up," she urged them. "Women have to ask themselves who's going to have and be there for you. I can promise you, I know, that Mitt will be there for you. He will stand up for you, he will hear your voices."

Nothing like having a two-Cadillac-driving, never-worked-a-day-in-her-life one-percenter tell you to wake up because you don't get it. Not that this is new for Ann. Just last week, she lectured Latinos on just how dumb they are for not liking her husband:

[Latinos] are mistaken if they think they are going to be better off with Barack Obama as their president. [...]

You'd better really look at your future and figure out who's going to be the guy that's going to make it better for you and your children, and there is only one answer. [...]

It really is a message that would resonate well if they could just get past some of their biases that have been there from the Democratic machines that have made us look like we don't care about this community.

Yes, it's those nasty Democrats who make it seem the Romneys don't care about people. It has nothing at all to do with the things they actually say. Like this:

I love the fact that there are women out there who don't have a choice and they must go to work and they still have to raise the kids. Thank goodness that we value those people too. And sometimes life isn't easy for any of us.

Yes, sometimes life isn't easy for any of us'but it's a lot easier for those of us who are always turning down $30 million-a-year job offers:

Well, we're used to kind of passing offers up like that. For us, our life is not about making money. We've been very blessed financially. Our life is now about giving back. I always trust that Mitt can always make another dollar. Poor guy, he took no pay when he did the Olympics for three years and no pay when he was governor for four years.

This, from the woman who said:

They were not easy years. [...]

We were happy, studying hard. Neither one of us had a job, because Mitt had enough of an investment from stock that we could sell off a little at a time. [...]

Mitt and I walked to class together, shared housekeeping, had a lot of pasta and tuna fish and learned hard lessons. [...]

We were living on the edge, not entertaining. No, I did not work. Mitt thought it was important for me to stay home with the children, and I was delighted.

Today, by the way, Ann climbed back up on her cross to whine that she does "work hard too, even though I've been told that I haven't." Funny, considering that once upon a time, Ann's never having worked was one of her talking points. Which is still a better talking point than harping on just how dumb lady voters usually are:

I think a lot of women may be voting, this cycle around, in a different way than they usually are: that is, thinking about the economy, thinking about their own jobs, thinking about their husbands' jobs, but also thinking about the future.

Ann Romney may believe women don't usually think about things like the economy or their jobs or the future, but that's because she's never had to think about things like that. Ann thinks "poor Mitt" got the short end of the stick because he didn't collect a taxpayer-funded salary when he was governor. And, despite her constant assertions that she's not wealthy and knows what it means to struggle, she'unlike most of the country'doesn't actually have to worry about her own financial security because she can "always trust that Mitt can always make another dollar."

Ann Romney should really stop talking. Now.
