Your next installment of GunFail News

First off, I'm including another one of these videos, but I'm beginning to wonder whether it's counterproductive to do so. I think they're instructive in terms of showing what sorts of idiotic things people routinely do with dangerous weapons (and tools, toys, etc.). Further, it's instructive that people think these things are worth videotaping. And there's another level of meta-issues wrapped up in the fact that people think these things are funny in the "Ha ha! We should try that!" sense. But here we are laughing at it, too, even if for a different reason. Maybe we shouldn't. I don't know.

Anyway, it's time to catch up on a few stories that I missed the first time around, and bringing us almost up to date with more recent ones. One of the patterns emerging in this, aside from the startling number of murder-suicides and people who clean loaded guns, is that reporting on these incidents is sometimes slow to emerge. So although I originally set out to document these stories in chronological order, filing late-breaking stories as updates to already posted entries tends to have the effect of obscuring their numbers.

So, on to the news, starting with the episodes missed in earlier lists.
