NRA really looks forward to getting 1/435th of vote in IL-02

tabloid depiction of Wayne lapierre as a gun nut Keep them out of IL-02! Goal ThermometerThe Illinois State Rifle Association is the state affiliate of the NRA (the National Rifle Association). And they know they have something good happening in the IL-02 race:
Gun policy rarely plays a deciding role in an election ' especially in a Democratic primary. But the issue looms large in the upcoming special election to replace ex-Rep. Jesse L. Jackson Jr. A confluence of local events placed gun policy in the spotlight here long before the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School [...]

there's the large roster of Democrats seeking the seat, including two previously backed by the Illinois State Rifle Association. Given the unwieldy field, any one of the seven better-known candidates ' including those two ' could win the Feb. 26 primary.

"It's going to make a difference in the Illinois delegation, certainly," said Richard Pearson, ISRA's executive director. "One 435th of a vote? We'll take it."

Of course they'll take it, as they need political muscle in DC to block sensible reform. The NRA is certainly salivating at gaining 1/435th of a House vote in this Chicago-based district. It's our job to make sure they don't get that.

That's why we're enthusiastically supporting Robin Kelly in the race, and why we urge you to contribute $3 (or more!) to kick the NRA to the curb.

Robin Kelly She has an "F" rating from the NRA, and proud of it.
