Chris Christie placed angry call to doctor who expressed concern about his weight

Say what you want about the propriety of the comments by the former White House physician who publicly expressed concern about New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's weight, this reaction from Christie seemed more than a bit thin-skinned:
[Former White House phsyician Dr. Connie] Mariano said Christie called her and yelled at her.

'It was essentially the tone of the press conference only louder,' she said. "It was hard to get anything across.'

'I don't think he realized who he was talking to,' Mariano told 3TV, adding that it's common for medical experts to weigh in on the health concerns of potential presidential candidates. 'I think I'm qualified to make a comment.'

Mariano set off Christie's rage by saying she worried that his weight would lead to a heart attack or stroke in office. That provoked Christie to tell her to "shut up," even though he had made his weight a public issue by eating donuts on David Letterman's show.

Ironically, Mariano said she had previously supported Christie. Now, however? Fat chance.
