Where does Scott Brown really stand on 'forcible' rape?

He really is a caricature Scott Brown has some harsh words for Rep. Todd "forcible rape" Akin.

"As a husband and father of two young women, I found Todd Akin's comments about women and rape outrageous, inappropriate and wrong. There is no place in our public discourse for this type of offensive thinking.  Not only should he apologize, but I believe Rep. Akin's statement was so far out of bounds that he should resign the nomination for U.S. Senate in Missouri."

Which is getting him just the reaction he needs to appeal to the voting population of Massachusetts, including a condemnation from the Family Research Council's Tony Perkins, who said of Brown, "He should be careful because based on some of his statements there may be some call for him to get out of his race." Just the ticket for Brown to continue to pretend he's not really a Republican.

Here's the thing though: the very same views on rape, abortion, and women are on the top of the national Republican ticket. There's no daylight between Todd Akin's and Paul Ryan's position on forcible rape.

Ryan cosponsored HR 3, the "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion" bill that attempted to redefine rape. If it's "outrageous, inappropriate and wrong" to parse what rape really is, then it should be at least as bad to actually try to legislate it. Which is precisely what Paul Ryan, and the rest of the Republicans, tried to do.

So when is Scott Brown going to demand that Paul Ryan step down from nomination for vice president?
